Tea Pairing
Experiences in Shizuoka

Welcome to the world of tea pairing in Shizuoka. Explore the concept behind this unique culinary experience, meet local tea masters, and discover exceptional tea pairing experiences across Japan’s premier tea region.

01 What is Tea Pairing

Tea pairing is the practice of matching Japanese tea with food to enhance the flavors of both. Some experiences are hosted by a tea master, who prepares each tea in front of guests and shares stories and insights throughout the meal. Other experiences are not accompanied by a tea master, offering a more casual style in which carefully selected teas, prepared by tea professionals, are served alongside the dishes, allowing guests to focus on the food and conversation. In either case, each pairing is thoughtfully designed to complement the menu and showcase the depth and versatility of Japanese tea.

With so many tea farmers, merchants, and tea masters dedicated to sharing the value of Japanese tea, Shizuoka continues to create new tea experiences while honoring tradition.
