Chojiya, a historic restaurant in Shizuoka with over 400 years of tradition, was even depicted in the ukiyo-e series The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido a famous set of Edo-period woodblock prints.
In this experience, learn the time-honored art of grating yam under expert guidance, then enjoy Chojiya’s signature tororo-jiru (grated yam soup) with a tasting of different dashi broths. Participants who master the technique will receive a special “Tororo Apprentice” certificate.
